MEET THE OWNERS

Zach comes from a family of fish mongers. In 1958 Zachary's grandparents, Jack and Sally Feldman, came to the US and  started a thriving fish business on Joseph Avenue called "Jack's Fish Market".

 

At the age of 15, Zach's Father opened up a wholesale/retail seafood business at the Rochester Public Market in the mid 70's.

 

Zach joined the family business at age 13 gaining years of experience before going off to college in 2010 and opening his very own seafood business at the Syracuse Regional Market.There he worked, every Saturday for 8 years, gaining many loyal Syracuse customers. In 2018, Jess joined the family business and took over the Rochester Public Market - and built Market Seafood from the ground up. 

 

Zach's knowledge of seafood and Jess's knowledge of marketing has helped grow their business to a multi city level. With hopes to provide quality seafood and knowledge across the nation.   

Three Generations of Rochester Seafood

Market Seafood's story starts on Joseph Avenue in 1958 with Jack's Fish Market, continues at the Rochester Public Market where Zach's father opened his wholesale and retail seafood business in the mid-1970s, and carries on today with Zach and Jess. Few seafood shops in Rochester can trace their roots back that far.

What That Means for You

Growing up in a family of fishmongers means Zach knows how to pick, cut and cook seafood - and is happy to share that knowledge. Jess built Market Seafood at the Rochester Public Market from the ground up, and her marketing know-how helped grow the business to a multi-city level. Today customers can order from our seafood shop and get home delivery on Thursdays and Fridays.
